We are thrilled to announce that Robert Parker reviewed the 2006 Syrahs submitted in May through the Hospice du Rhone tasting in Paso Robles and awarded ours 90 points!  60 wines were submitted and reviewed.  His glowing review is below:  Thanks Mr. Parker!

"Made by Andrew Murray, this beautiful Syrah displays wonderful elegance as well as a floral blue and blackberry nose, with hints of licorice and tar. The wine exhibits a balanced mouthfeel with outstanding ripeness and good acidity, giving vibrancy and freshness to its rich fruit. This wine should drink nicely for 5-6 years. "

 

On Saturday we attended the release party at Spottswoode Winery in St. Helena.  What a lovely and exciting affair!  Their "Field Book"  was one of the wines poured and the first ever Rhone style wine made at the winery.  It had been offered in the invitations that went out to their wine club members and with only 179 cases, sold out before the party!  The fact that it was made from 100% Terra Bella grapes and carries our vineyard designation made us extremely proud.   The 300 or so attendees enjoyed tastes of all that was left for this year, and were disappointed to not be able to purchase this beautifully crafted wine.  Thank you to the Novak Family, owners of  Spottswoode Winery  and Jennifer Williams the winemaker for their wonderful hospitality and doing such a great job with our grapes.
